Horseback riding is the most authentic way to experience Patagonia, and there is a ride for every level — from a gentle first hour in the saddle to a full day in the mountains. Here is how our rides compare.
The easiest way to ride in Patagonia: estancias 25–30 minutes from town, between lakes, native forest and cliffs where condors nest. You choose how long to ride, and we match you with the estancia with availability on your dates.
Transfer from Bories not included — we can arrange it.
A small family operation in the Tres Pasos area, 25 minutes from Puerto Natales on the road to Torres del Paine. Charlotte and Enrique train their own horses and ride on private working estancias, following old gaucho trails through ñire and lenga forest, across rivers and over rolling hills with views of the Paine massif. Bilingual WFR-certified guides, groups of 2 to 7.
Box lunch and hot drinks on full days. Transfer not included — about 25 minutes by taxi, we can arrange it.
A calmer, more connected experience: before setting off you meet your horse, brush and saddle it, and learn to read it — then ride through native forest.
Transfer from Puerto Natales included.
For intermediate and experienced riders. Estancia Los Baguales lies in the remote Baguales range, north of Torres del Paine, with a great herd of horses and open country for some cantering. Chilean saddles with wool cushions, helmet and half chaps, and a bilingual riding guide. Groups of 2 to 6.
Not included: travel insurance.
